THE TRADITIONAL TOAST AT THE WEDDING RECEPTION
THE TRADITIONAL TOAST AT THE WEDDING RECEPTION
LED BY THE FATHER OF THE BIRDE
It has come to that moment wherein tradition we stop to render our heartfelt wishes and hopes to the bride and groom with a Toast…
AND, As the father of the bride, I would like to lead everyone in a toast to Tyler and Lizzy..
God instituted marriage whereas it would be the perfect place setting or picture for the gospel. It is an analogy of redemption that prepares all mankind for a redeemer
who will come again.
But in the closest sense and in this context tonight, Christ portrays himself as a Groom who comes to his bride, the church, and sacrifices himself on her behalf with unending love and with
an eternal covenant of righteousness, unity and identity.
We have seen that analogy demonstrated today between Tyler, the Groom, who has come to his bride, Lizzie, where they joined in a marriage of unity and identity.
They made similar promises to one another that mirrors the promises that are exchanged between Christ and His church.
AND, In respect to our Great Redeemer, The Groom, and to His bride, The church, and
likewise, to our New Groom And His Bride…may Tyler and Lizzie be strengthened with all power according to His glorious might as they reflect in their own union the roles and eternal covenants between Christ and His church….
Please raise your glasses to Tyler and Lizzie and your prayers for them to our Savior:
“Here is to covenant keeping!”
